For trainers
Get discovered. Get booked.
Get paid.
TrainU gives independent youth sports coaches the tools to run a real business — local discovery, scheduling, payments and client management — without buying your way to the top of a search page.
Built for how you already coach
Everything that isn't coaching, handled
The parts of the business that eat your evenings — scheduling, chasing payment, keeping track of who booked what — in one place.
Get discovered locally
Show up when families in your town search your sport. No ad budget, no bidding — your profile competes on coaching, not spend.
Scheduling that holds
Publish one-on-one slots, small groups and events. Seats hold on payment, and cancellations follow a window you can point to.
Get paid automatically
Card payments through Stripe, straight to your bank. No cash, no invoices, no awkward follow-up texts.
Roster and family management
Clients, managed child accounts, session history and packages in one place — including the parent who books for two siblings.
Messaging built in
Answer questions before a booking without handing out your personal number. Responsiveness also feeds your ranking.
See what's working
Earnings, completed sessions, repeat clients and cancellations — the numbers that tell you whether the business is growing.
Fair discovery
You can out-coach your way to the top
On platforms where placement is for sale, the coach with the biggest budget wins. Here the only lever is being good at the job — which is the one lever you actually control.
- No pay-to-rank, everThere's no sponsored slot to lose out on and none to buy.
- New coaches aren't invisibleA temporary cold-start boost gets you seen while you build your first ratings, then phases out.
- Signals you can moveReply faster, deliver sessions, earn rebookings — each of those is something you can do this week.

Long Island families are already searching
TrainU is concentrated here on purpose — density means the parent searching your sport in your town actually finds you, instead of a coach an hour away.
Questions coaches ask
How do I get discovered without paying for placement?
You can't buy placement here, so ranking comes from coaching quality: ratings, how often families rebook, how quickly you respond, and completed sessions. New trainers also get a temporary visibility boost so they aren't invisible on day one, and it phases out as real signals accumulate.
What does TrainU cost?
There's no subscription and no listing fee. TrainU takes a percentage of each booking, shown to you before you publish a price, and the athlete sees a service fee on their side. You keep the rest, paid out through Stripe.
Do I need to be certified to join?
You need to pass verification — we check identity and the credentials you claim. Formal certifications aren't mandatory, but they help: SafeSport training, a current background check, concussion training and CPR/AED all build trust with parents, and many local leagues require them anyway.
How do I get my first clients?
Complete your profile, add an intro video, and price competitively for your experience level to start. Most independent coaches build from a mix of local discovery, referrals from existing families, and being genuinely responsive to first messages. Employment for fitness trainers is projected to grow 12% from 2024 to 2034, and most of that goes to self-employed coaches who get discovery and referrals right.
Can I still coach outside TrainU?
Yes. There's no exclusivity. Many coaches run team practices, school programs or their own clinics alongside TrainU bookings and use the platform for the private-session side of their business.
